superb - the texture, colour scheme, composition but, most importantly, as I've told you before, you impart life to your beautiful subjects. they breathe

Having tried to capture the feather detail on one of these birds in the past.. I can only imagine how much work you put in to get it this good. Superb work of a beautiful animal.

Thankyou for the compliment and the feature, I am very flattered. :) For the fine lines I just used a very thin watercolour brush; for example 3/0 or 4/0, and alot of patience.

The slight greenish background make it seem like the owl is very close to the viewer. The textures are really clean and clear. This is very nice work.

Ever since an owl came to visit me (and true to the legend I believe its visit seemed to be a warning of death and endings of phases), I have been very interested in owls. This is a fine piece. Great work.

Thankyou for the compliment. Why do you think the owl warns of death? I saw a wild barn owl (in Crete) when I was a child, and on the same night I also saw a shooting star. It was ghostly, but I received a positive and strong vibe.

The artist comment will explain...

I agree, not always death. Might be the end of a phase... or just an owl!
