A slow mixing of wavelengths intensified as night ebbed into the waking dawn. Birds sung in intermittent bursts while the city cats listened; and prowled their neighbourhood territories in the streets below.

But the boy could never wait for Paris to awaken by the masses.
"Giuseppe!" A short, husky voice cut through the dim atmosphere, and the boy started. He turned from sitting and looked up at his step-father; regarding the fat man with unease.

Spheres

Deep blues, purples and yellows shimmered within frozen liquid spheres of glass. Milky clouds of white and spots of red played incandescently within the swirl of colours.
A sound that traced the marbles path across the dark platform reverberated with a soft draw. Only microscopic discrepancies in the friction of the smooth surface, and perhaps the movement of air from the onlooker's breath, prevented their directions from being totally random.

A reasonably quick drawing of a Caracal cat. I tried out the Faber Castell coloured pencils that I was lucky enough to have at Christmas.

I will need to invest in better quality drawing paper ( I mainly work in watercolour) as this ordinary type frayed and I was fortunate that it did not rip in parts when pressure was applied.

Yes, it would be just after midnight now in your part of the world, Kate and I think I can hear the echo of booming fireworks from far away!:-) I'm quite sure I won't be up for any fireworks here in my town since I got up to go to work this morning at 4:45AM and am feeling kind of weary just now. And as I wrote, do keep up the fine artwork, my friend and I'll be looking forward to seeing more in the coming year...Happy New Year again...CHEERS!!:-)

Well, as I discovered myself, it requires some self-discipline but after a time, it becomes easier to enter Dreamland at an earlier time than usual. But I still do my best artworks late at night, so I'll just have to let it go a bit, me thinks, Kate.
